Short Introduction
The museum holds a collection depicting American culture from the War of Independence to the present day.
The Muybridge collection here is extensive, including 2703 prints and 618 images on glass as well as various projection lenses pieces of camera equipment used by Muybridge. Other highlights within the collection include "Animal Locomotion", University of Pennsylvania years; and a unique collection of 770 mounted cyanotype boards photographed at Pennsylvania, whose labels cross-reference the Muybridge lab notebook Series Neg. numbers and the published Animal Locomotion numbers.
