Short Introduction

The Boston Athenaeum is a membership library established in 1807. It has world class special collections and a 600,000 strong book library, as well as a childrens library, art department and conservation team. Search facilities to view the collections can be found on the organisation website.

The highlights of the Muybridge collection include 100 photographs from 'Animal Locomotion' and 202 photographs of Central America in 2 bound volumes.
