Short Introduction
The Bibliotheque Nationale de France is France's national Library. Set over 5 separate locations, the Muybridge holdings at this organisation include 6 Muybridge chronophotographical motion sequences from 'Attitudes of Aminals in Motion' and 1 album of photographs from 'Attitudes of Animals in Motion'. Rare Books include 'Attitudes of Animals in Motion' (1897), 'Animals in Motion' (1907), 'Descriptive Zoopraxography' (1893) and 'Animal Locomotion' (1887), which also includes a prospectus and catalogue of plates.
Other items within the collection are 5 films on Muybridge, 2 posters and 17 books about him, as well as various periodical articles, and ephemeral documentation.
