Short Introduction

Currently, the Library collection numbers more than 274,000 volumes of monographs and journals and a collection of archival materials and natural history art.(http://library.mcz.harvard.edu/wp/?page_id=52/)

The Muybridge collection includes:

Das Pferd in Bewegung (6 photographic plates), Berlin, 1879

Animal Locomotion, Prospectus and Catalogue of Plates, Philadelphia, 1887 (2 copies)

Animal Locomotion - The Muybridge work at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, 1888.

Additionally, there are over 150 published plates (some of them duplicates).

Furthermore, in the Archives of the Museum of Comparative Zoology, there are several published works by Eadweard Muybridge, as well as five letters written by Muybridge to Alexander Agassiz January - May, 1883.
